Chrissy was drawn to the piano at age five, like many other children in Taiwan, but she was more interested than most and attended a special high school for musicians. Through lots of practicing she was able to receive a piano scholarship to study at her favorite conservatory in the USA, much to her delight! Chrissy holds degrees in both piano performance and education (master's).
Chrissy is interested in many things, including:
Chrissy runs a successful teaching studio with long waiting list, and gives monthly piano teacher technical workshops, and loves hosting concert events and master classes, where she invites or hosts/co-hosts incredible pianists like John Nakamatsu, Lang Lang, Konstantine Lifshitz, and many others!
Chrissy is Chairman of National Piano Guild of San Jose, Board Member of US Open Music competition, Board member of CMTANC, Member of MTAC, and other organizations.
Chrissy loves connecting people with the perfect piano (which is usually a Steinway, although there are exceptions), so she joined Sherman Clay in the spring of 2007. Chrissy won the first-place in Steinway sales award in the same year, because she always wants people to have the piano that is perfect for them.
Chrissy is a Concert Artist/accompanist, and she is also currently performing for Steinway Home Concert.
Chrissy has one special project, she is writing a book on teaching piano! This book will help both teachers and students better communicate to help make kids turn from "typists" into actual musicians!
